IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION
All F and B visa holders must complete this form for tax purposes: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8843.pdf a hard copy is located in the Annex. Feel free to ask Robert McGinnis at the Annex for assistance. The deadline is April 15.
AUTHROIZATION FOR LEAVE
If you are not returning to LCI next term, Spring II, please see the International Student Advisor, located in the Annex for authorization regarding Transfer to another school or Vacation. You must give notice if you will not return.
ANNUAL VACATION
Students will receive 1 week of spring break between Spring II & Spring II terms. Any student wishing to take Spring II as a vacation must seek approval. To be eligible, you must have attended classes without interruption at the LCI since Summer II 2011, enroll in classes for Summer I 2012, and be in good academic standing. Turn in the completed pink “Leave/Departure Request” form to the International Student Advisor in the Annex.
IMMIGRATION UPDATE
If you are an F-1 visa holder, you must report your new address to your immigration advisor. Students must update addresses with either Diana or Beth in the Annex.
VT E-MAIL ACCOUNT
Every student to the Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute will need to set up an e-mail account. This e-mail account will be used to send you important notices and bills. You will use this account as long as you are a Virginia Tech student. The e-mail username you choose is also called a PID, or "Personal IDentifier." With your PID and an associated password, you can access online Virginia Tech services. You will create your PID from the Generate PID page at https://webapps.es.vt.edu/pidgen/start.html. Your student identification number (printed on your student identification card) will be needed to set up your account. STUDENTS SHOULD CHECK VT EMAIL REGULARLY.
